A. Euthanasia
Eu-thanasia (from Greek: eu means good & thanatos means death) is the practice of
terminating the life of a person or an animal because they are perceived as living an
intolerable life, in a painless or minimally painful way either by lethal injection
(致命的注射),
drug overdose(藥物過量), or by the withdrawal of life support(拔除生命輔助器)
Euthanasia is a controversial(有爭議的) issue(問題,議題) because of conflicting
(抵觸) religious and humanist(人道主義的) views(觀點).
「安樂死」（euthanasia）一字原文是希臘文，由「美好」和「死亡」兩字所組成，
（eu = good，well好；thanatos = death死）也就是「好的死亡」或「無痛苦的死亡」
，韋氏字典（Webster'sDictionary）給它定義為「一個安寧而輕鬆的死亡」或是
「導致安寧而輕鬆的死亡行為」，現指有意引致一個人的死亡作為提供他的醫療
的一部份，有時也譯作「無痛苦致死術」。近年來世界各國各界對此問題特別關
心，它涉及到醫學、哲學、經濟、法律、宗教、倫理、社會學等各個領域，而隨
著科技的發展和人們觀念的改變，人們以往對死亡的恐懼心理遇到了人類理智的
挑戰，我們能更公開地討論這個非常嚴肅的話題。
B. Scandal
